LAVINIA HOUSE is always busy with people meeting friends, enjoying a coffee, tea or snack, reading a paper or taking part in the many activities. Refreshments are available through the day.

Outside, there is a south-facing terrace with tables and chairs and two gardens to enjoy on suitable days.

Situated in Dukes Square, with access beside the Drill Hall in Denne Road, Lavinia House is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

A delicious two-course lunch, prepared and cooked on the premises, is served at 12.30 for up to 45 members. It is essential to book a place beforehand as it so popular.

THE SUZANNE GREEN Day Care facility is based at Challen Court Retirement Housing in Hamilton Road, Horsham.

The Centre provides many benefits such as combating loneliness and allows some relief for carers. It also provides stimulating activities to help maintain independence and improve mobility as well as practical support for vulnerable people facing problems in their own home.

Open four days a week between 8.30 and 4.30 pm, the Centre welcomes fifteen frail, older people each day. Most have been referred to us by WSCC, Social and Health service staff.

The Day Centre Manager, Elizabeth Lawrence, is supported by a Senior Carer plus two Carer/Activity Assistants, a Bath Assistant and several volunteers. All Staff have qualified to NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

On two days of each week, there is also a bath service provided by Age Concern in an assisted bathroom, for those who find it difficult to manage at home.
